40 year old company, a leading distributor of fine furnishings has an immeidate opening for a furniture repair technician.
The primary job of the Furniture Repair Technician is to conduct repair/touch-ups on wood furniture, micro fiber, upholstery, leather and other furnishings.
The Furniture Repair Technician will be responsible for restoring merchandise that has been damaged or has manufacturer defects. The Furniture Repair Technician Supervisor must have a thorough knowledge of repairing wood products, burn ins, color matching, adjustments, do upholstery repairs as well as other components. The Furniture Repair Technician Supervisor will have direct customer contact and must have the ability to fix any product in the field. Must be able to work independently. The Furniture Repair Technician is responsible for administrative duties, must maintain a clean DMV record and have a professional appearance and grooming at all times.
Requirements
- 8+ hours weekly
- Ability to drive company vehicle to customer's home to repair merchandise infrequently
Furniture Repair Technician duties include but are not limited to:
- Record the repairs on the Repair Log as items are complete
- Touch up items
- Fill-out claim forms
- Meet with the Service Manager to ensure quick resolution to damaged merchandise challenges
- Requires occasional heavy lifting and moving of furniture
- Excellent communication skills required for interacting with customers in person
- Perform warehouse duties as needed
Candidate must be able to present a positive and professional image, have knowledge of the local community and have a New Jersey or Pennsylvania Drivers license with have a clean DMV record. This position is open immediately and pay is dependent on experience. Candidate will speak English fluently.
