Medical Billing/Collections Specialist

We are growing and currently seeking another professional, bright, enthusiastic person with excellent collection skills to fill the position of: Medical Billing/Collections Specialist

This position plays a vital role in the efficient operation of our ambulatory surgery center through:

• Producing and monitoring accounts receivable reports
• Analysis of all patient accounts to ensure accurate and timely insurance company and patient payments
• Accurately projecting future collections based on accounts receivable
• Working to achieve monthly collection goal set by the facility
• Follow-up with insurance companies, insurance adjusters and attorneys for payment
• Working denials and rejections to ensure payment of all submitted claims
• Maintaining all electronic patient financial files
• Conducting insurance verifications
• Interacting with patients to answer financial questions and set financial arrangements as needed
• Monitoring and daily posting of insurance and patient payments
• Monitoring daily claim submissions
• Credentialing
• Medical Records 

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a team oriented attitude, proficiency in medical billing/collection programs, an understanding of in network and out of network insurance and the ability to analyze data. Ambulatory Surgery billing/collection experience and electronic health records/Advantix experience a plus.

The hours of this position are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday with 1 hour each day for lunch.

Requirements

• Team player with excellent analytical skills who is self-motivated, detail oriented and has the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in order to meet deadlines.
• Must love collecting money and attaining collection goals
• 3+ years medical billing/collections experience within a fast paced environment
• Experience with commerical insurance, out of network insurance, personal injury, workers compensation and  medicare.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience working with EOB’s, appeals and denials
• Ability to multi-task in a fast pace setting
• Ability to meet deadlines for AR reports and work well under pressure
• Clean background and credit check
