Description
MACHINE & EQUIPMENT: Magnetic energizer, demagnetizer, ultrasonic tester, eddy current, tester, acid etch equipment, liquid penetrant equipment, scales, hand truck, ovens, hoists, blacklight, microscope, boroscope, pc
TOOLS: Trasnducers, probes, solutions, timers, pressure, temperature and electrical gages, fixtures and various hand tools
MATERIALS: Any product, tool or raw material
WORK GUIDES & INSTRUCTIONS: Method sheet, work drawings, procedures, specifications, testing standards, purchase order and detailed instructions
TOLERANCES & FINISHES: Number, type, direction of indications for laps, cracks, pipe, seams and other discontinuities cannot exceed allowable limits
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform repetitive types of magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, eddy current and acid etch non-destructive tests of raw materials and finished products. Use standard methods, procedures and sampling plans as instructed to detect indications of discontinuities such as cracks, laps, seams, bursts, etc. Load parts to machine or conveyor, process and inspect. Evaluate according to specifications and determine acceptability. Re-inspect as necessary and refer questionable work in accordance with established production schedules. Accomplish and maintain Nondestructive Testing Level II certification in not less than 1 NDT methods per SNT.TC.1A, Mil Std 410, Mil Std 271 and PWA NDTQ.
