Description Redfin is looking for a recruiter who can build a people-driven business nearly from the ground up. Our primary challenge in creating a hundred-million-dollar business is hiring a world-class customer-service team that shares our values and our passion. Nowhere else could you be so instrumental to a company’s success.

This company is a recruiter’s dream. In a sales-driven industry, we tell our employees to do the right thing. In a dog-eat-dog world, we want to create a caring culture. Where other brokerages churn-and-burn through contractors without benefits or career growth, Redfin insists on both. Initially, you’ll focus on the customer-service organization, but later on we may turn you loose on engineers too.

What you should bring to the table:
• Resourceful: Anyone can post an ad to Craigslist. But you know how to search LinkedIn, work the phones, and dig for referrals to find the super-stars who didn’t even know they were looking for a job. You can be delicate when the situation calls for it, but you’ve also got the chutzpah to email anybody.
• Personable: you can learn the lingo for talking to a real estate agent or an engineer, and you’ve got a knack for getting people to talk to you who initially want you to drop dead. You’ve got a thousand LinkedIn connections and almost as many Facebook friends. You treat the people we don’t end up hiring with respect.
• Eye for talent: you don’t waste managers’ time with hit-or-miss candidates. You listen carefully to what a manager really wants, craft a dead-ringer job description, and iterate quickly on failed candidates to identify the winning traits. Half the recruits you meet you dong yourself. You pride yourself on quality, not quantity, and you try to make the process efficient for everyone, not just yourself.
• Thoughtful: you recognize when a job description is off-base, when compensation is below market, or when you’re looking for love in all the wrong places, making adjustments quickly rather than banging your head against a wall.
• Programmatic: you know how to build programs at scale, for recruiting from college and professional ranks. You’ve run recruiting events, developed referral incentives, created recruiting advertisements and fliers, rotated candidates through site visits, and trained managers to screen candidates. Ideally, you’ve built large-scale organizations based on a consistent set of values-based hiring criteria, and you keep track of why candidates thrive in their jobs and why they fail. Pipelines and process are your friends.
• Sales-person: you really know how to sell a job, picking up on cues that a candidate is worried, connecting the candidate with the right people in the organization, making sure the candidate gets a nice lunch, seeing the recruiting process through to the very end.

Here’s what you’ll do:
• Find candidates: some people want to build programs and manage others without ever picking up the phone themselves. That isn’t you. At Redfin, everybody sweeps the floors.
• Rap with hiring managers: you have to build rapport with hiring managers so you know what they want and they trust your judgment.
• Build programs: we need a hunter and a farmer, someone who can pick off a rock-star as well as build a college recruiting program to bring on dozens of people at scale.
• Market the company: Redfin doesn’t have any recruiting collateral. Our Facebook page never gets updated. We haven’t had an open house in two years. You’ll need to help us put all that together, acting as the company ambassador at industry events across the country.
• Manage others: if you do good and Redfin grows, we’ll need to hire an entire recruiting team. And we’ll give you a shot at running it, if that’s what you want.
• Screen and organize: we’ll need you to pre-screen candidates, assess whether they’re in-line with our values, and setup interviews.
• Manage the pipeline: you’ll have a lot of candidates to manage, you’ll need to be pro-active about keeping things organized, militant about procedure, and reliable on follow-through.

Requirements:
• Experience: a minimum of two-years in a firm or corporate recruiting environment, with a history of results & excellent performance.
• References: at least three references from placements you’ve made within the last six-months.
• Smarts: you’ve got a college degree, can communicate & write well and are sharp as a tack at grasping new things.
• Tech-chops: you’ve got this internet thing dialed, are familiar with online recruiting methods, blogging & forums.
