Description
Responsible for analysis, assessment, prioritization, planning and initial implementation of Jenny Craig’s geographic expansion. Will assess expansion opportunities and gain leadership agreement on priority, market entry strategy and staffing of local in-market team. Transition to team member, providing specific support in Marketing and Financial Analysis, as the team prepares for market entry. After market entry, the Director New Business Development becomes a team resource for Marketing/Financial expertise, as well as for sharing of best practices learned from all geographic expansions.
Essential Job Duties
Manage assessment of potential acquisition targets, including strategic fit operating synergies, and multiple financial “what if" scenarios. Manage communications process with targets from initial contact until an agreement is reached or negotiations are discontinued.
Lead researcher of geographic expansion opportunities, recommend priority markets and market entry strategy, model multiple financial scenarios. Merger and/or acquisitions will be considered as one way of market entry. Work with Nestle in-market personnel or market-specific consultants to identify country-specific issues, e.g. consumer habits and practices, which might impact market entry strategies.
Recruit and develop an implementation team for each approved market, and ensure successful transition of project objectives and expectations.
Support implementation team and operational leaders with marketing expertise, as needed.
Research, analyze and develop global weight-management data resource, including competitive data, in order to prioritize global target markets, potential acquisitions, etc.
Identify potential licensing partners for product categories complementary to Jenny Craig, negotiate favorable terms and generate profitable flow of licensing fees.
Explore potential of Jenny Craig-driven weight loss in lowering health care costs. Expand this message to insurance, corporations and governmental entities.
Explore and assess business partnerships with complementary companies, agencies, etc. (e.g. fitness club company).
Direct multi-functional team in preparing competitive updates. Explore potential of Jenny Craig’s lowering of health care costs message to insurers, corporate and government entities.
Prepare monthly summary of New Business Development activities and financials.
Responsible for supporting a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment-free work environment by understanding and complying with the Operations Manual, the Jenny Craig Safety Policy/Manual and all Human Resources policies, and by demonstrating the Company’s values and being a role model for the Company Brand.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience
· 7-8 years of related business development experience, including M+A analysis and support, and experience in a fast-growing international organization
· Direct response marketing background preferred
Knowledge:
· Marketing experience with fast-growing international company

· Strong experience with financial models/spreadsheets
