We are currently seeking qualified candidates for our Junior Network Engineer Position in Alpharetta, GA.
Performs implementation and operation of complex network systems, ensures that all operational systems, databases, workflow processes, job schedules and networks are working properly and accessible to authorized personnel. Provides Tier 1 hands-on network support as necessary for systems. This position will design, document, develop, and maintain the enterprise network infrastructure for multiple locations. Will also be a key contributor to the network security systems and procedures adopted by the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Data Center personnel to make sure that all network systems are available and working properly.
- Provides engineering support and monitors all key operational system metrics and provide weekly reporting of those metrics to management.
- Consistently working to enhance system performance and systems availability.
- Provide input and direction to the Corporate Disaster Recovery Plan to ensure plan is up to date and consistent with current practices, system configurations and operational procedures.
- Assists in coordination of support from vendors when systems experience problems. Provides 24x7 hardware and software support for Cisco, Juniper, F5, and other network infrastructure components.
- Candidate should be highly technical and knowledgeable about 24x7 operations of a Data Center.
- Self starter, working knowledge of best operational practices, ability to understand the complex working of the internal workflow systems and the interrelationship of systems within the workflow.
- Candidate should have a minimum of 2 years experience in a fast paced Data Center Operations environment supporting Cisco Networking systems.
- Knowledge of Internet protocols and services (TCP/IP, WWW, FTP, TELNET , NFS, SSH, RSH, etc).
- Knowledge of firewall, routing, and switching hardware, with an emphasis on Cisco and Juniper hardware and software.
- Solid understanding of networking devices, software, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Absolute commitment to customer service and a “can-do" attitude.
- Industry-recognized certification in networking, such as CCNA, CCDA, etc. CCIE desired.
- Exposure to various compliance regulations, such as SOX, HIPAA, SAS70 desired.
