Rasmussen College is growing!  We are currently seeking a Financial Aid Officer to join our team in Fort Myers, FL.

General Duties:

  • Implement financial aid policies as directed, ensuring compliance to state and federal regulations, audit requirements and the College’s policies.
  • Assist prospective and current students in completing financial aid applications; track and collect all necessary information/paperwork.
  • Confer with outside financial agencies regarding student’s eligibility for assistance.
  • Determine eligibility for and tracking of financial awards.
  • Advise and counsel students on financial aid options and maintains contact with students throughout the application process.
  • Track all student financial packages and prepare requested tracking reports accurately and on time.
  • Conduct entrance and exit counseling interviews, advising student of repayment schedule calculations.

  • Ensure loan recipients receive appropriate default management letters and/or delinquent/preclaim     letters respectively.

  • Work effectively with other campus and college admissions personnel.

  • Maintain accurate knowledge of the College’s products, services, and competition.

  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

    • Minimum of one to three years of related experience and/or training, preferably within a financial aid, finance counseling or loan processing environment.

    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to maintain records and files with precision and accuracy.

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary. This position requires the ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision.

    • High degree of professional and telephone etiquette.

    • Excellent customer relations skills a must.

    • Above average aptitude for math.

    • General knowledge of the higher education industry preferred, but not required.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.

    • Working knowledge of financial software preferred but not required.

    • Good command of the English language, in both oral and written form.

    • A professional appearance and telephone manner.
