Senior Director Medicinal Chemistry

We are looking for a motivated, dedicated professional who wants to combine their skills  and knowledge of cancer therapeutics with a talented team to change the current paradigm of drug discovery and development.  
 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for directing the synthesis of novel compounds in conjunction with our proprietary platform.  Candidates must have proven track record of advancing novel drugs into clinical development.  The head of medicinal chemistry manages internal chemists as well as external medicinal chemistry contractors.

Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for interaction with computational chemistry and discovery technology group with respect to synthesis of novel compounds

·         Direct activities of chemistry group

·         Manage and direct up to 6 individuals; monitors and evaluates completion of tasks and projects

·         Contribute to increasing productivity of chemistry group to meet corporate discovery objectives

·         Must have previous exposure to computational chemistry tools

·         Initiates and directs the design, synthesis, purification and characterization of small molecules.

·         Facilitates the design of novel small molecules by interaction with other chemists regarding biochemical, molecular and pharmacological topics.

·         Experience working with fragment libraries

Education:

This position requires a PhD. in Medicinal Chemistry with 8 – 10 years industry related experience, with at least 2-3 years of managerial experience preferred.
