Description
The Product Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the elements of the marketing mix (strategy, product, promotion, etc) for assigned lines of our products. Product Manager is responsible for meeting the needs of the consumer and the customer and delivering the expected financial results to the company. A key responsibility will be to own and lead all projects for upgraded products and for new products within their line.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Development, management, and implementation of marketing strategies for product lines
Development and management of budgets and P&Ls to support recommended plans
Identification of new product and upgraded product opportunities
Management of all approved new/upgraded product projects from Brief/P&L through Start Ship
Development of objectives, forecasts, a supporting marketing plan, and selling tools for each new/upgraded product
Monitor Yr 1 new/upgraded product performance (velocity in the marketplace vs expectations, quality vs. standards, consumer relations praise/complaints, etc), adjust plans accordingly
Analysis of product performance utilizing internal and external data sources
Analysis of competitive products, positioning, and promotion
Recommendation for future qualitative and quantitative research
Collaborate with Sales and Customer Marketing to identify account specific product needs and marketing programs
Requirements
Direct Sales and/or sales coordination
Bachelor Degree in marketing or business management. MBA a plus.
5-7 years of Consumer Products Marketing and Product Management experience
Strong product portfolio management with experience in leading a new product process
Command of an array of consumer marketing vehicles
Strong project management experience
Financial acumen as it relates to margin and pricing fundamentals
Ability to communicate with all levels of a company (internal/external)
Ability to influence people and functions
Passion for and ability to model behavior that is aligned with our mission, vision, values &
operating principles
Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
Knowledge of consumer research techniques
Experience in a rapidly growing business
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Microsoft Project experience is a plus
Periodic travel
