JOB DESCRIPTION: Aviation Operations Specialist Instructors $48-$63K FT. RUCKER AL
Conducts student training involving any and all aspects of tactical and fixed-based airfield operations concerned with such functions as flight planning and reporting, aircraft scheduling and movement, tactical procedures, flight records, and administration.
a. Candidate will Review and update classroom training materials such as student handouts, lesson plans, overhead slides, and practical exercises, as required due to new software, hardware or tasks from a Critical Task and Site Selection Board. Candidate shall be required to update training and lesson plans provided by the government for instruction. Necessity for updates shall be determined by the contractor and recommended to the government prior to implementation. The government shall provide formats for lessons/training plans.
b. The candidate will conduct classroom instruction and testing in subjects taught, to include grading of exams, evaluation of results, recording of exam results, and activating and reviewing student critiques (most of which are currently available electronically in Blackboard) and the conduct of after action reviews with the students. Training and Tests are both performance-based and criterion-based. These tests are developed and available for the current curriculum. If the contract instructor is involved with a curriculum development effort, part of that shall be to develop new tests associated with the new curriculum.
c. The candidate will participate in Program reviews, Training material evaluations and validations.
d. The candidate will make recommendations concerning Training Support Packages and training development material.
Applies a combination of instructional methods and techniques including conference/lecture, demonstration, practical exercise, seminar, programmed instruction, and computer assisted operational training. Employs training aids and equipment, television, film and document image projectors, and audio players/records and tapes to present instructional material. Prepares for classes by reviewing lesson plans, instructor guides, course materials, references and training aids. Administers practical exercises and examinations. Evaluates student progress through grading and conducting counseling. Provides remedial instruction as needed. Contributes to the development and redesign of programs of instruction, including updating and modifying training objectives, actions, conditions, and standards. May participate as a member of a standardization committee. Conducts cross training of other instructors as required. Recommends course content changes and participates in the development of different approaches or methods as needed. Assists in arranging and writing lesson plans and related course material such as handouts, instructor guides, written exercises, written examinations, and associated outlines, programmed texts, and audio/visual materials. Selects and synthesizes relevant, applicable aspects of directives, regulations, manuals, industry publications, and related references for tests, guides, handouts, exercises, aids, and examinations. Performs other duties as assigned. Willing to conduct training in a field environment. Performs other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Former/Current Aviation Operations Specialist (MOS specific military experience required)
• Instructor/Writer/Developer
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
• BA/BS desired.
• Army Basic Instructor training Course (ABIC)
• Support Cadre Training Course (SCTC)
• Combat experience (desirable)
• Experienced in ABCS (CPOF, AMPS, FBCB2, MiRC and TOC Operations
• Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office
Two plus (2+) years as an Instructor, Writer and/or Developer
Knowledge of Army doctrine and Army operations
