JOB SUMMARY

 

Manages overall Hospice program at multiple locations and oversees functions in collaboration with Hospice Medical Directors.   Oversees implementation of long-range plans, new programs and staffing.  Ensures Hospice mission of ministry to community is carried out, ensuring quality patient care and effective operational systems.  Responsible for achievement of revenue and profitability goals, growth goals, and the overall efficient operations of Regency Healthcare Group, LLC. Responsible for the coordination of education and quality assurance activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer and the Controller, develops and achieves staffing plans and annual budgets which promote effective and efficient utilization of hospice financial and human resources. 

  • Analyzes physician referrals to hospice program, patient origin data and activities of competing programs.  Reviews management information reports and provides justification for variance when required.  Demonstrates good stewardship by prudently approving purchases within Regency Healthcare Group, LLC. policy.    Achieves budgeted revenue and income numbers.

 

  • Provides for the delivery of high quality, safe hospice services at all locations through adequate staffing, supervision and evaluation of personnel.

 

  • Follows Regency Healthcare Group’s policies and procedures.  Ensures that an orientation is provided for all new hires.  Completes objective and timely performance evaluations on all subordinates.  Takes appropriate corrective action when performance is below standard .  Maintains staffing at budgeted levels.  Monitors staff productivity.  Assures participation of hospice staff in regularly scheduled in-service educational programs.   Demonstrates leadership qualities and has the ability to instill leadership qualifies in others.

 

  • Responsible for program and policy formulation for Hospice. Implements and evaluates programs and policies.  Ensures required documentation for state, federal and other regulatory agencies is maintained, accessible and current. Maintains  compliance with JCAHO requirements and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
     

 

  • Assures all hospice locations follow standardized policies and procedures, standards of practice and conditions of participation. Assures compliance with hospice accreditation, licensure, and certification requirements.   Corrects deficiencies within specified time frame.

 

  • Acts as liaison between Chief Executive Officer, local hospice locations’ advisory boards, medical directors, and hospice staff. Ensures harmony of relationships.

 

  • Keeps Chief Executive Officer informed of hospice developments.Keeps hospice staff and medical directors informed of governing body, advisory boards, and management actions.  Holds at least monthly staff meetings with hospice locations. Acts as liaison with referring physicians, patients, families and management.

 

  • Participates in Regency Healthcare Group, LLC. short and long term planning process,  keeps current with home care and hospice trends and developments, and recommends hospice programs and services.

 

  • Develops, evaluates, and monitors implementation of Hospice Quality Assessment Plan, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
     
  • Oversees the preparation of statistical reports on the results of utilization reviews, clinical record audits, third-party payor claim denials, patient/family satisfaction surveys, and physician satisfaction surveys.
