RFA/Minnesota Engineering www.rfamec.com is an engineering and design service company dedicated to providing clients with timely and appropriate help on an as-needed basis. We provide quality design engineering services to over 200 companies. State of the art computers, CAD software and analysis software allow us to work interactively with our clients and function as an extension of the client's engineering staff.

We work in all areas of mechanical design, including off-highway mobile equipment and mechanical power transmission, consumer, recreational, industrial, medical products and one-of-a-kind special manufacturing machines. Projects include new product design and development, redesign of existing products, cost reduction, problem-solving, concept and analysis.

Requirements

We are currently seeking to fill a Design Engineer position with our firm. This employee will provide engineering support for our client at its location in Griffin, GA.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving engineering issues on current product.  Issue will range in complexity and will be generated for many sources.  The most complex task will be component & system design in support of the project where this individual will function as a greenbelt.  The simplest of task will to answer print questions.  Issues arise from suppliers, Griffin operations, machine plant partners, purchasing and other design engineers.  This individual will be expected to investigate root cause, gather data and develop recommended solutions.  

 
Desired Qualifications

  • Motivated and capable of working in a self directed environment
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Science Mechanical      Engineering Technology or Equivalent Degree
  • 2+ yr of machine design experience
  • ProE experience
  • Experience with off-highway equipment: Experience/understanding of diesel engines, System and component design experience     
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, project experience and work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork capability
  • Familiarity or prior training in 6 Sigma
