Teller

Position Summary:

Provides superior and quality customer service.  Provides customers efficient and accurate transaction processing.  Sells and cross-sells all Bank’s products and services. Opens new accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, customers and potential customers.

• Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.

• Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.

• Will be involved in ordering, receiving, verifying, and distributing cash.

• Operates a teller’s window to serve the bank’s customers by:

  • Accepting retail and /or commercial deposits, verifying cash, endorsements and giving customers their receipts.

  • Identifying customers and cashing checks, verifying signatures.

  • Accepting savings deposits and withdrawals, Balances cash daily.

  • Providing additional customer services including Cashiers Checks, Personal Money Orders, Savings Bonds, Travelers’ Checks, Stop Payments, Certificates of Deposits,       closing accounts.                

• Opens new accounts and assists the personal bankers when needed.
• Promotes the bank’s products and services; consistently cross sells bank products at every opportunity. Opens new accounts as needed to support the personal bankers.
• Follows all applicable laws and regulations.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.              

Knowledge Requirements:

• High School Degree or equivalent strongly preferred.

• Prior bank experience strongly preferred.

• Cash handling or customer relationship/sales experience.

• Knowledge of retail products/services and bank regulations/compliance preferred.

• Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Skill Requirements:

• Excellent Customer Service skills.

• Strong Sales orientation.

• Strong number orientation and accuracy with detail orientation.
