Description
Use your skills in Lawson Software, Cobol programming, Lawson Process Flow, Design Studio, MS-Add Ins, Portal, and Web Development in our fast-paced Under the minimal supervision participate as a project team member in systems design, enhancement, and/or developing programs for user areas in new or existing production systems. Must be competent to work on fairly complex analytical and programming tasks. Must be able to to design, code, document and prepare programs for processing, and prepare and document interface between related programs or systems.
· Conducts needs analysis study, including evaluation of current environment (user and computer) by observation, interview, and examination of existing systems documentation, manual, forms, etc.
· Conducts feasibility and cost benefits studies.
· Documents general and specific design specifications. Participates with user in design of production and conversion plan to ensure smooth transition from current to new environment. Assists in the design of input and output formats, screens, and reports.
· Designs interface, both automated and manual, between users systems.
· Develops test data and designs of test protocols.
· Develops implementation plan and supports implementation process.
· Develops user and MIS procedure manuals.
· Analyzes and evaluates outside software; assists in preparation of recommendations for acquisition.
· Translates program specifications, flow charts, and decision tables into appropriate computer instructions and/or codes for highly complex programs.
· Establishes and evaluates program efficiency by assisting in the analysis of performance and determining the accuracy of results. Oversees or develops procedure technical manuals.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, or technical training and work related experience (courses in systems analysis and design, DBMS, screen design techniques, forms design, data gathering, oral and written communication). 5+ years of experience in a variety of programming and analytical activities; at least 1 year of analytical experience; on-line, real time and data base environment.
Experienced with Lawson Software. Cobol programming, Lawson Process Flow, Design Studio, MS-Add Ins, Portal, and Web Development. Lawson Security knowledge a plus. Must also have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Excel and Access.
Accountable for analyzing/evaluating small to medium size programming projects, detailing programs in writing, preparing test data, submission of completed programs, assistance of lower level programmers.
Plans own work activity with minimum supervision, analyzes and reports risk factors. Exercises independent judgment and utilizes resources effectively.
* Occasional nights or weekends for projects implemtnation/upgrades as required. On call 1 week on 10-week rotation.
