Senior Oracle Database Engineer
Contract: 12 Months
Rockville, MD
Scope of Position:
Design, develop, and maintain database applications.
Work with product managers, project managers, and other development team members on a daily basis to analyze requirements, design, and develop database applications.
Main Responsibilities:
· Meet with business stakeholders and other technical team members to gather and analyze application requirements.
· Design database solutions to satisfy application (business and technical) requirements.
· Implement database solutions using available database development tools.
· Provide written status reports to management regarding project status, task, and issues/risks.
Required Skills:
· Strong experience in Data Modeling, SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting.
· 5 years working experience in Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, or other relational database.
· Proficiency in relational database design, data warehousing and database administration.
· Experience in Oracle Designer, Visio design tools.
· Experience in database performance tuning .
· Experience TOAD, Oracle Enterprise Management development tools.
· Experience in configuration management and code version control.
· Experience with Sun Solaris, Digital Unix, HP-UX, Windows NT/2000.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Good technical and problem solving skills.
· Excellent oral & written communication skills.
· Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Desired Skills:
· Experience in financial service industry is a plus
