ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direct and constant guidance to Clinical Laboratory Technicians as required by applicable state and federal regulations
May participate in process design and improvement activities such as: quality, safety, document management, proficiency testing and collaborating cross functionally
May assist with the implementation of test methods from R&D or external sources
May interact with vendors on special projects
Responsible for technical studies designed to improve or validate clinical laboratory testing methods
May participate in clinical research as required
Reviews and maintains QC records and reports all problems to laboratory management as required
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Position generally requires a Bachelors degree with current California CLS license with at least one year of related experience.
Experience working in a high complexity CLIA/CAP environment preferred.
Data entry and Microsoft office skills strongly preferred.
Previous experience providing guidance and direction to other laboratory personnel highly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as scientific publications, vendor specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to understand and comply with all applicable laboratory regulated guidelines
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current California CLS license required. Must maintain continuing education units required by California Department of Health Services.
