Job Summary: This position is responsible for the Inspection of all aircraft at the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Chief Inspector is responsible to the General Manager for the inspection of all maintenance, repair and modification of aircraft, engines, propellers and appliances performed at this facility.
The Chief Inspector is responsible for directing all inspection department personnel. It will be his duty to ensure that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is released to the public and that the proper inspection records, reports and forms used by this Repair Station are properly executed.
The Chief Inspector is responsible for directing the inspection department personnel in the disassembly, inspection, detailed inspection for determination of serviceability, disposition and tagging of unserviceable parts and final inspection of completed units.
The Chief Inspector will be responsible in maintaining a current file of pertinent FAA specifications and Airworthiness Directives. It will be his duty to secure and maintain technical data on all units modified or repaired by this Repair Station. The material will consist of manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, Service Bulletins, related Civil Aeronautics manuals, etc.
The Chief Inspector is responsible for directing the inspection department personnel in the preparation and filing of all modification, repair and inspection forms. He is responsible for the submission of FAA form 337 when required and for the submission of malfunction or defect reports, FAA form 8010-4, when required.
The Chief Inspector is responsible for directing the inspection department personnel in the inspection and release for service each airframe, engine, component thereof, or accessory which has undergone maintenance, repair or alteration at this facility. If, in the opinion of the inspection department, the unit is airworthy the inspector will sign the maintenance release in accordance with instructions contained in 14 CFR Part 43.
The Chief Inspector is responsible for directing assigned inspection department personnel in the periodic inspection of all precision measuring tools and test equipment. The Chief Inspector is responsible for maintaining precision equipment records consisting of a computer log which will be checked on a monthly basis for any item out of calibration.
The Chief Inspector is responsible for compliance and enforcement of FAA Regulations at this Repair Station.
The Chief Inspector is to serve as the Accountable Manager having responsibility over the Repair Station operations that are conducted under 14 CFR Part 145. The Chief inspector acts as primary liaison between the Repair Station and the FAA.
The Chief Inspector performs annual evaluations of his direct staff to ensure the individuals continue to perform their assigned duties and responsibilities at acceptable standards. This process is accomplished In Accordance With the Hawker Beechcraft Corporation Human Resources guidelines.
