Description
21st Century Oncology is a leading developer and operator of radiation therapy centers, medical oncology, and multi-specialty practices throughout the US. Our centers, which are freestanding and hospital based, provide a full spectrum of radiation therapy services and medical oncology treatment to cancer patients, and multi specialty care to patients in the areas of Urology, Gynecology and medical specialties. We are growing and need highly qualified candidates to join our team.
We are searching for a Medicaid Collector to support our corporate office in Fort Myers, Florida. The Medicaid Collector acts as the contact person and performs all necessary AR tasks for governmental agency collections.
- Bills Facilities, Hospitals and Hospice on a regular basis
- Works off of the insurance aging report for facilities, Hospitals and Hospice
- Calling and writing the individual facility, Hospital or Hospice whose balances are past due and following through with any research, re-filing, etc. that needs to be done to obtain maximum payment
- Acting as the company liaison for all contact with facilities, hospitals and hospice accounts for charges due
- Coordinating with company financial managers and administrators for contracting or collection needs
- Contacting insurance companies by telephone as needed in an attempt to determine patient eligibility or the need for the transfer of charges
- Invoicing hospital charges and submitting for payment
- AR Reporting for aging facility, Hospital or Hospice accounts on a monthly basis
- Maintaining contract information for billing purposes
- Adjusting charges per contractual guidelines as needed.
- Assisting with researching SNF information, including dates of stay for AR purposes
- Providing information as needed to the Medical systems management staff for new Facility, Hospital or Hospice plan set up
- Coordinating individual patient accounts with other collections staff as needed.
- Ability to effectively communicate payment requirements for hard-to-pay accounts, per MCR guidelines.
Requirements
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to read and understand insurance EOBs and correspondence
- Ability to travel as necessary; valid driver’s license
- Typing 30-35 wpm
- Ability to use basic computer, including e-mail and Microsoft word
- Medical Manager experience a plus
- Responsible, self-starter, with good organizational skills and follow through
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or general education
- At least two years experience working in collections
