Job Title:  Product Manager

 

Job Description:

The Product Manager position at FuelQuest is responsible for interacting with customers to drive product requirements, knowledge transfer of product functionality to teams throughout the organization, participation in sales / pre-sales process, solutions reviews, and application subject matter expert support.  The Product Manager owns the strategic direction of his/her product solution, should be familiar with how need the solution in their business operations, and factor in market and competitor trends to ensure the product is successful.  Understanding of product development life cycle is a must.  The following section outlines the Product Manager’s responsibilities.

Requirements

Principal Responsibilities:

·         Interact with customers, industry experts, and other product managers to capture
          business requirements and sculpt a solution.

·         Identify new product and market opportunities

·         Set vision for owned products and develops product roadmaps

·         Develop product requirements based on strategic vision, customer needs, competition,
          and industry knowledge

·         Translate the product requirements into functional concept documents, including use
          cases and User Interface Mock-Ups (typically with HTML)

·         Work with development to translate requirements into effective technical design

·         Update documentation of uses cases, product description and release plan/road map
          status

·         Support Sales by providing product expertise in a sales cycle

·         Educate support, sales, services, marketing, and other internal groups on new product
          updates and features

·         Assists with product focus groups

·         Speak at industry events and FuelQuest user conferences

·         Participate in Release Management meetings and develop problem statements to
          ensure the Release Plan accurately depicts your Product deliverable schedule

·         Manage product lifecycle from concept to sunset

·         Provide ongoing business requirement expertise to members of the application
          architecture, development, and quality assurance teams.

·         Educate others about the capabilities of newly developed products.

·         Assist professional services with training client personnel using the company's
          products.

·         Assist sales staff by providing product expertise during the sales cycle.

·         Understand the technical implementation of the product, including the architecture and
          data model

·         Understand how the product interacts with the rest of the product suite

·         Achieve defined product objectives for owned products


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         Ability to communicate functional concepts effectively to other staff members across all
          teams and to external clients.

·         Ability to interface well with teams across the organization, including Professional
          Services, Development, Sales, and Marketing

·         Ability to take initiative owning a problem or concept and driving to a solution

·         Thorough knowledge and experience with Waterfall and Agile Software Development Life
          Cycle methodologies

·         Eagerness to contribute in a team-oriented environment

·         Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

·         Ability to meet client travel requirements, when applicable. (5% Travel)

·         Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

·         MBA a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Bachelors Degree required from accredited institution

·         Experience: 4-10 years in Software Product Management, preferable with SaaS and/or
          experience in the Fuel Industry
