Description World-class manufacturer of FRP building materials is seeking a Vice President of Engineering for its rapidly expanding engineered-product businesses. Positioned as the quality leader in FRP cable tray, FRP roofing & siding materials and FRP Dual Laminate piping, Enduro is seeking a degreed engineer who possesses an industry or applicable mechanical background with the leadership abilities to contribute to the continued growth of the company.

 

Position Responsibilities:

The position will manage, mentor and develop the existing engineering staff, support two manufacturing plants as well as both the inside and outside sales groups.  The position will be responsible for improving existing product lines and process, new product development, development of publications and technical papers, support of the Macola ERP system, implementation and support of CNC work centers and the co-implementation of lean manufacturing and principles.

Requirements Education/Experience:

Minimum 4 year degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field; 10-15 years experience in engineering and engineering management; a licensed professional engineer; industry related experience in manufacturing processes including pultrusion, RTM, continuous lamination, filament winding, hand lay-up, performance calculations and FEA and laminate analysis.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience:

1.    Strong Management and Leadership Skills

2.    Demonstrated proficiency in software packages including AutoCad, ALGOR, MasterCam 5 axis and MathCad.

3.    Strong technical and analytical aptitude, with forward thinking.

4.    Understanding of structural calculations and design in both steel and fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP)

5.    Experience with specification-driven industries or products

6.    Experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation

7.    Strong communication skills, including the ability to coordinate internal communications and the ability to talk with customers about design/detail concepts and timelines to keep them on task

8.    Employee training and development
