The AMETEK Aerospace & Defense Division is a $500-million revenue unit that designs and manufactures differentiated components and subsystems for commercial transport, regional aircraft, business jets, military aircraft and military vehicles. The division also serves the global maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) market. The division produces sensors and fluid management systems, power and data systems, and thermal management components and systems.
The Hughes-Treitler Business Unit designs and manufactures state of the art plate-fin heat exchangers, cold plates, condensers, evaporators, and other heat transfer products. We provide custom design and engineering services, to high quality manufacturing standards, for the aircraft, engine and industrial heat exchangers in the mobile/marine/avionics/space and missile markets.
We are currently seeking a Purchasing/Supply Chain Manager who possesses strong skills and a proven record of successfully executing the following areas: international procurement, logistics management, e-business initiatives, strategic sourcing, and cost reduction techniques.
Requirements
•Create a consistent record of reducing inventory and rectifying manufacturing issues
•Develop a world-class supply chain utilizing strategic goals, initiatives and revenue tools
•Be adept at identifying cost saving measures, productivity improvements and information needs
•Implement new manufacturing deployments i.e. Buyer / Planner assignments, KIT-BOM strategies, supplier quality, on-time delivery, order fulfillment and supplier kanban
•Demonstrate the ability to interface with all levels of personnel
•Encourage and foster team work among departments
•Analyze and recommend strategies for replacing legacy system with e-procurement systems
•Develop real time reporting capabilities, accessible through the intranet, with scorecard to measure supplier performance
Other Requirements include:
- Computer literacy in a MRP system (Oracle a plus), Microsoft Office
- Must possess solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations in a fast paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation
- 5-9 years in procurement and sourcing role in a production environment in support of complex components, fabrications, and machined parts preferred
- ITAR, and Military/Aerospace experience preferred
- B.S. preferred
- Professional Certifications are a plus APICS/ISM: CPIM, CPM, CSCP
