Title: Programmer Analyst – J2EE

Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Start: Immediate

Duration: 3 months plus

Terms: Contract

Description:

 

Sr. Programmer Analyst is responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, evaluating, and documenting of application web site solutions. This position reports to Application Development Manager or Sr. Application Development Manager. Candidates will be a senior member of application development team for any internal or external application development projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Participate as senior member of programming team. Responsible for coding, testing, debugging, implementation and program documentation adhering to the SDLC. Provide technical oversight through design reviews. Provide operational and production support for applications with strict adherence to customer SLA’s.  40%


2. Act as primary point of contact for smaller projects. Help manage internal and external customer expectations. Coordinate with other IT team and internal customers to clearly define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.  20%


3. Actively participate in setting and implementing application development methodology. Conduct QA and peer code reviews.  10%

4. Provide technical support to IT and Client-Services partners. Whenever applicable, work with assigned project manager to on project planning and status reporting. Identify and communicate any project risks through appropriate channel. Participate in the estimating process.  10%


5. Track time on projects accurately and promptly. Report weekly status to next level supervisor. Demonstrate flexibility in meeting customer deliverables.   10%


6. Understand business requirements for system support and translate them into appropriate web design. Perform requirement reviews.  10%



Requirements

Education and Training

 

Required - 4-year College Degree or Foreign equivalent in Computer Science

 

Desired - Advanced Degree: Masters or foreign equivalent in Computer science

 

Business Experience 

 

3-5 years in programming web base applications.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

 

Required

 

·         3-5 years of Java programming in struts framework

 

·         3-5 years in J2EE development environment

 

·         3-5 years experience in object-oriented programming environment

 

·         2-3 years experiences with Flash / Actionscript version 3

 

·         2-3 years experience with XML and XSLT

 

·         Experience with Struts 2 Dojo

 

Additionally Required

 

·         Excellent understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

 

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills

 

·         Must be a detail oriented, analytical and an independent thinker

 

·         Exercise good judgment within defined standards and guidelines in ambiguous situations

 

·         Demonstrated ability to work in a medium and large team environment, multi-task to meet critical deliverable dates and strive for results

 

·         Working knowledge of MS Windows Product Suite (MS-Project, MS-Visio, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, and MS-Word)

 

Desired

 

·         PPG PRM business Operations or Healthcare background a plus

 

·         Familiarity with Oracle Database environment

 

·         Familiarity with Rational Unified Process (RUP), UML, Object Oriented Programming (OOP), and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

 

·         Working knowledge with business rules and workflow engine (iLog, Autonmy, etc.) a plus

 

Working Conditions:

 

Environment

 

Candidate is expected to work in General office environment. Occasional travel may be required. Candidate may be asked to work overtime occasionally. They must be flexible for various project assignments whenever needed.
