Job Title:  Senior Linux Systems Administrator

Job Description:

FuelQuest is seeking a Sr. Linux Systems / Network Engineer who will be responsible for designing and maintaining a reliable, scalable, secure and HA (High Availability) UNIX/Linux systems environment. The position will work closely with software development groups to analyze, define, and build high-traffic systems and must possess a strong understanding of UNIX/Linux in enterprise environments as well as the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) solution.

The position will also work closely with operational groups to provide training and troubleshooting assistance. The ideal candidate will be a proven technical leader with solid understanding of Linux operating system and large-scale configuration management tools.

The candidate must possess the ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems and speak fluently to management regarding solutions and options for problem resolution. The candidate must also possess the ability to work closely with a variety of customers including; Infrastructure technical resources, application technical resources, end users, and vendor sales/infrastructure professionals.

Required Skills:

·         5+ years of experience with Linux System administration

·         Experience with AppServer6.x in a high availability environment.

·         Experience withRhel5,JBossEAP4.3,Apache2.2,Tomcat6.0,and JON.Must have strong
          Linux command line(Shell)skills and Shell Scripting

·         Good communication and strong documentation skills.

·         Solid understanding of J2EEtechnologies (JNI,JDBC,JMS,JNDI,JTA,JAAS,etc).

·         Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

·         Understanding of networking concepts/technologies/principles.

·         Experience with application servers (Apache, JBoss, and Tomcat) required.

·         Knowledge of multiple backup and recovery technologies (Cloning, Snapshots)

·         Working knowledge of 2+ operating systems (linux, Windows Server2003)

·         Working knowledge of 2+ disk subsystems (EMC - CLARiiON, DMX, NAS, CDL - EMC
          PowerPath)

·         Working knowledge of multiple disk/ switch vendors (Cisco & Brocade)

·         Ability to do SQL queries

·         Work with different hardware and software vendors to determine solutions

·         Good understanding data center operations, SLA management, and Change
          Management

·         Good understanding of Networking in an TCP/IP WAN environment is a plus

·         Load-balancing with MySQL required. Oracle is a nice to have.

·         Expertise with DNS, NFS, DHCP, Samba, mail (e.g. Postfix, Sendmail), and FTP
          services.

·         Back-ups for Linux systems and program installation, compilation and configuration,
          system-level security procedures

·         Java Application Deployment experience

·         Experience with monitoring tools

·         24/7 availability for on-call rotation

Education:

·         Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
