We are currently seeking a part time Periodontal Consultant Dentist for our SPNS program in our Norwalk location.

As a SPNS Periodontal Consultant, you will:
- Provide general support to the SPNS grant protocol, including monitoring of data collection and treatment results for the SPNS population.
- Assists with orientation of new providers to the SPNS data collection protocol.
- Represent CHC in bi-annual meetings and as needed.
- Actively engage and participate in research geared at publication.
- Assist the grant evaluator with the design and implementation of the SPNS Grant local evaluation. Train and calibrate dentists and hygienists for data collection involved with SPNS local evaluation. Analyze SPNS patient data on a regular basis to be sure that it is consistent with the goals of the local evaluation.
- Provide regular clinical supervision of dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and the dental care coordinator on all aspects of the clinical data needed for the national and local evaluations. Provide routine education to all Norwalk/Stamford staff on the clinical resources provided by the SPNS Program and their involvement in it. Work with the Project Director to ensure the validity of all data submitted to the BU Evaluation Center.
- Conduct periodic chart reviews in an effort to ensure accuracy of data, timeliness of entry and efficacy of treatment plans for all SPNS patients.
- Work with Dental Care Coordinator, providers and other SPNS staff to maximize recruitment and retention of patients.
- Represent CHC by participating in funder meetings and conferences. Attend bi-annual SPNS conferences and participate in case study presentations, poster presentations and other related workshops as determined by the Project Director. Selectively disseminate information about local evaluation results, SPNS program model and other aspects of the SPNS project by presenting at national conferences. Work with the PI, Project Director and BU Evaluation Center on dissemination of information through publication.
- Maintains open communication with Dental Director, Site Director, Practice Manager and other staff. Participates in continuing education activities to improve clinical dental skills
- On a timely basis, complies with Agency mandated in-service training workshops (EOC, Working Safely, Abuse, etc.).
Qualifications:
- DDS or DMD degree from accredited dental school
- State of Connecticut dental license
- NERB or Regional Dental Boards
- DEA (Federal and State) active licensure
