Clinical Coordinator
Plan, coordinate and direct all aspects of health care delivery in the clinic. Acts as a nursing consultant for all patient care issues. Will supervise the LVN’s, medical assistants and MA Team Leader, usually an average of ten employees. Is a working supervisor position filling in wherever and whenever needed. Routinely will be expected to make patient calls, assist in procedures, etc. Must be confident working through employee counseling sessions. Will be the go to person for making sure clinic operates efficiently troubleshooting as necessary.
Major duties include but are not limited to:

Manage the operations of the clinic, lab, bone density, and nursing office and act as a role model for all members of the healthcare delivery team.
- Assure coverage of the clinic and nursing office on a daily basis. Prepare schedules and manage time off requests.
- Assure that patient flow is smooth and uninterrupted with an emphasis on assisting providers to move through their schedule in a timely manner.
- Deliver professional nursing care within the scope of nursing practice; administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards; observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
- As needed, perform the duties of assigned staff.
- Document in the electronic record and act as a resource on the EMR.
- Communicate on a daily basis with other managers and the Administrator to identify and resolve problems. Regularly attend management meetings.
- Hold regular meetings with assigned staff.
- Meet regularly with physicians to solicit input on clinic operations and to keep them informed.
- Develop and teach nursing telephone triage procedures and assure that all members of the health care delivery team are adequately trained to perform quality patient care.
- Maintain oversight of controlled substances.
- Investigate and respond to patient complaints.
- Write policies and procedures and assure implementation.
- Establish recall process and assure follow-up with patients with abnormal pap smears.
- Interview, hire and discipline staff in consultation with the administrator.
- Monitor performance of assigned staff and give regular appraisals.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA and HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Perform related work as requested

Requirements
Registered Nurse, RN, with Texas State License. Previous supervisory / management/ charge nurse experience required. Experience in Women's Health, OB/Gyn or L & D preferred. Will consider someone with management / supervisory experience without specialty experience.
