Job Title Engineering: Relay Protection Engineer


 

  • This is a request for staff augmentation for the Control Systems Engineering Department.
  • Two full-time relay protection engineers are required; beginning ASAP, and lasting till 12/31/2010.
  • The experience level should be at least one year in relay protection; five years is preferable.

Job Requirements 

The engineers' responsibilities will consist of the following:
  • Design relay protection systems for transmission, distribution, generation, and motor circuits. The relay systems will utilize both electro-mechanical and microprocessor-based relays.
  • Design communication systems for relay protection.
  • Review one-line and schematic drawings for relay protection systems.
  • Participate in substation field walks and project meetings.
  • Perform short-circuit studies and relay coordination studies.
  • Calculate and issue protective relay settings, including microprocessor relay files.
  • Develop descriptive documents regarding relay protection systems, for use by operating personnel.
