We're looking for a Building Services Technician to provide skilled and preventative maintenance for community buildings, operating systems, machinery; ensures grounds are maintained in good condition and safe working order through preventative maintenance and timely follow-up. Creates meaningful moments in the lives of residents, visitors, and staff by demonstrating EMI (Eliminating my Impossibilities) behaviors.
Essential Functions:
- Timely completion of routine repairs, maintenance requests, and work orders throughout the community
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned
- Assists with maintenance of fire, life safety systems and equipment; responds to emergencies according to Mather LifeWays policies and procedures
- Assists with loading and unloading of deliveries
Secondary Functions:
- Monitors the community through regular tours to ensure safety and security of residents, guests and staff
- Assist Groundkeeper as needed; may include seasonal maintenance including shoveling of snow, de-icing of outdoor spaces, as needed
- All other duties as assigned

Requirements
Required: General knowledge of maintenance and repairs; effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and Outlook programs
Preferred: Experience/formal training in HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, painting, emergency response, and/or fire, life safety systems.
