Description
  1. Ensures departmental compliance with the County, State and Federal regulations.

2.      Review and development of policies and procedures.

3.      Oversight of clinical programs, planning and design of the BHU, Social Services, Therapists, and Utilization Review.

4.      Staff Recruitment and Performance

5.      Oversight of legal procedures and issues
6.      Implementation and supervision of Quality Improvement Plan.

7.      Interface with Psychiatry Section Chief/Medical Director, physicians, families, LPS and      regulatory agencies.

8.     Plan, coordinate and provide in-services and continuing education for staff, in collaboration with the Nursing Educators, Infection Control Nurse, Medical Director and other Managers.
9.     Spokesperson and representative for the Unit – Resource person to other hospital departments.

10.   Community Relations and Referral Development

11.   Participation in hospital committees, work groups and management meetings.

Requirements

1.      Education:  Degree in Management, Business Administration, Bachelor of Science Degree, or other extensive educational training modules, or extensive experience in management.  Master’s preferred.

 

2.      Experience/Specialized Skills:  Minimum of four (4) years acute psychiatric inpatient experience or related field.  Minimum of four (4) years of supervisory, managerial and administrative experience.  Excellent knowledge of psychiatric inpatient regulatory standards and treatment.

 

3.      Licensure:  Management of Assaultive Behavioral Certification, CPR Certification; Pro-Act required.

 

4.      Must be an RN.
