job description


Functions include providing strategic and financial sales leadership of key  tw telecom accounts.  Tasks will be to develop overall account strategy for specific named accounts, including closure of sales opportunities  Overall customer relationship management, managing to annual customer revenue objectives, evaluation of partner alignment, thorough understanding of customers applications, and overall  tw telecom performance stewardship for all designated accounts. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Manage the cultivation, execution and delivery of sales and services to high-end local and regional accounts in the Strategic Market segment.
  • Position and sell service(s) across multiple organizational levels including but not limited to C-Level and Executive Level personnel.
  • Initiate and deliver proposed solutions to meet the needs of the assigned customers.
  • Develop solutions, applications and benefits that optimize tw telecom infrastructure and margins for Internet, data, transport and voice services.
  • Negotiate local or regional contracts with required to achieve success.
  • Maintain weekly account contact to ensure positioning and incremental sales opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales quota.
  • Prepare specific account plans documenting customers goals and objectives and an overall strategy to optimize sales in this market segment. 
  •  Management of sales, quota funnels and forecasts consistent with corporate goals and objectives

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:


Strong leadership skills, consultative selling skills, impressive communication skills, planning, negotiations, problem solving ability, and strong interpersonal skills are required.   Strong understanding of Technology, IT and Telecommunications applications knowledge.  Sales and proposals consist of mission critical customer applications and product solutions in data, Internet, voice and transport services.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Travel required - 35 to 50 percent.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience is required.
  • One year minimum experience in positioning, managing and selling to strategic client organizations or in the Fortune 1000 business enterprise segment.
  • Proven ability to manage large corporate customers  at the C level and Executive Management level.
  • Experienced in strategic/consultative sales techniques, cost analysis-based selling skills, and service improvement planning.
  • Operational understanding of LAN/WAN technology, telecommunications, IT applications at the corporate customer level.
  • Experience in forecasting and account strategy skills.
  • Operational understanding and/or expertise regarding ordering, provisioning, billing and regulatory processes associated with telecommunications customers and products.
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software, and presentation software.
  • College Degree Preferred in Business, Communications or Marketing.
