Due to our growth we are seeking an exceptional candidate with Aerospace background at the Senior Level. 

 
Reporting directly to the president, at times this position receives direction from other owners.  The incumbent is responsible for all Engineering Department functions including product and test equipment engineering, analysis, drafting, and project management functions for all engineering projects.  Responsibilities also include costing, scheduling, and technical performance for engineering elements of projects.

 

Responsibilities

 

·       Prepare annual revenue and cost budgets

 

·       Implement and review tactical plans for achieving strategic goal set by the President

 

·       Review, update, and create ISO procedures to standardize and streamline engineering processes to higher efficiency levels.

 

·       Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management.

 

·       Ensure the optimal application of technology, hardware, software and engineering resources to meet customer requirements, per product and/or marketing requirements documents.

 

·       Ensure that work scope is fully and correctly defined, documented, and executed on schedule.

 

·       Hire and direct staff of group members and managers, acquire necessary resources and plan to meet scheduled commitments.

 

·       Implement and review formal processes to support the engineering and  product development process

 

·       Participate in directing engineering sales and marketing efforts that will create sales in desired areas balancing customer and industry segments of aerospace, medical, and other.

 

·       Support and travel to accounts as required to discuss project work for clients pre-qualified by sales staff.

 

·       Direct, review and when needed, prepare in-depth proposals for larger projects.  These may require creation of a statement of work, estimate of project scope, schedules, and pricing.

 

·       Ensure that reviews are conducted on time and that employees receive fair compensation, recognition for their work, and suggestions for the advancement of their careers.

 

·       Conduct regular meetings with the engineering staff to review projects, quotes, direction, and challenges within the department.

Requirements

Required Qualifications     MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN

 

·        BS in Mechanical Engineering required (other engineering fields will be considered).

·        Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to guide and influence others.

·        Substantial experience relevant to indicated position areas of expertise and knowledge of related disciplines.

·        Substantial training and experience in the use of GD&T and Tolerance Stack Analysis. Must be able to achieve certification in GD&T and Tolerance Stacks within 30 days. This will likely require a personal investment of time as well as company time.

·        Training and experience in the use of MS Project and in project management techniques.

·        Substantial experience in metals and metal fabrication processes.

·        Fundamental understanding of the design, test and analysis tools relevant to the function, to include CAD, FEA, FMEA, DFA, etc.

·        Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as good interpersonal skills.

  

Desired Qualifications

  

·        Advanced degree (MS) in mechanical or aerospace engineering or business administration (MBA).

·        Strong mentoring and teamwork skills.

·        Prior experience in the design of external, jet engine components.

·        Working knowledge of CAD programs such as Unigraphics and Finite Element Analysis packages such as ANSYS.
