SUMMARY:
The Training Specialist will focus on providing training or facilitation of a specialized program for all areas of the company. In addition, the position will assist with the management and support of organizational and staff development needs, evaluation, design and implementation of programs that facilitate the development and continuous learning for company employees.
DESCRIPTION:
- Under the direction of the Training Manager conducts training and performs projects as required.
- The Training Coordinator provides training and direct rig support in addition to auditing 3rd party training to ensure compliance with training requirements and competency of personnel.
- Must be able to develop and conduct training in a wide variety of regulatory and company required topics.
- Conducts audits of third party and in house training to insure compliance with standards.
- Responsible for monitoring compliance of Well Control Training plan including maintaining hard and electronic data files.
- Coordinates training logistical support including all tools, programs and resources are available for required training
- Ensures appropriate training programs, both in-house and external are available to provide personnel with the skills and knowledge required to perform assigned duties
- Communicates with management any existing and new regulatory or existing requirements while monitoring compliance.
- Evaluates curriculum, training courses and training contractors
- Selects and trains instructors and prepares instructional aides.
- Collaborates with Management to provide the most effective and efficient means to deliver training that meets production and business standards
- Administers measurement tools during and following training which includes performance needs analysis, design, development, implementation and monitoring of programs
- Assists with the development and implementation of processes to identify and monitor metrics appropriate for organizational development and change programs.
- Directly interacts with and provides expert advice to employees during training session
- Maintains the accuracy of the training database and calendar for tracking purposes
- Utilizes formal assessment data to build classroom or other interventions related to leadership development.
- Ensures all interventions and on-line activities are captures in a learning management system.
- Perform other duties and special projects as requested by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in designing or managing learning and development programs for associates or managers
- Working experience in the offshore drilling industry is preferred.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly
- Spanish preferred, but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proven people and organizational skills.
- Able to interact with all levels of management
- Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Licenses, Certifications, Credentials, or Other Requirements:
- Training certifications preferred (Achieve Global, etc.)
