Job Summary:
The Lathe/Machine Operator is responsible for manufacturing products according to company directives. The Lathe/Machine Operator follows the instructions to run parts and produces production parts to required tolerances. He/She follows directions, sets up job according to specifications, and produces required quantity of parts according to specs. The Lathe/Machine Operator works on different types of machines to carry out a particular phase of the production process. The Lathe/Machine Operator has his/her own tools.
Must be professional, experienced, conscientious, responsible, dependable, flexible, and proficient with good work habits, strong workmanship and a positive attitude.
Requirements
Job Requirements include but are not limited to:
· Experience with Hardinge Lathe, Matsuura, Toyoda, Brother, Kitamura and/or Robodrill vertical and horizontal machining centers; Fanuc lathe controls
· Sub-spindle and multi-axis background is a plus
· Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines properly
· Physical ability to do work requiring bending, standing, sitting, lifting and carrying 35 pounds
· Maintains reports on work orders handled and quantity produced
· Maintain work are in neat/clean condition
· Ability to read drawings, specifications, quality plans
· Ability to use measurement tools like micrometers, verniers, etc.
· Performing work in a manner which meets all product and Quality System requirements
· Performing work in a manner which ensures the safety of personnel, the public and the environment
· Performing work in a manner which is in compliance with all Statutory and Regulatory requirements
· Participating in applicable corrective and preventive actions
· Manufacturing products according to Process Plans, Quality Plans, and Customer requirements
· Commitment to the growth and continuous improvement of the company and its employees
· Participate in Quality Improvement projects as necessary to support the company goals and strategic business plan
· Conform to the XLI Corporation Safety Policy & Building Security Policy
· Any other legal and ethical function delegated by your supervisor or management
· Any other function or task delegated by XLI Management whether related to your actual position or not
City of Rochester resident preferred
Education Required:
· High school diploma or GED
· Associate degree desired but not required
· One year manufacturing experience desired but not required
NYS Department of Labor Journeyman Machinist or NIMS credentials - preferred
Shift: B 2:00 - 10:30 p.m.
