Private Upper East Side family of four seeks full time Private Chef. Responsibilities include: 
• Create fresh seasonal meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for a full time schedule (mainly vegetarian meals with occasional chicken)
• Work with the family’s Personal Assistant to coordinate weekly menus
• Event production for social and religious gatherings, political fundraisers, and philanthropic events
• Consistently maintaining a professional, sophisticated, and discrete manner
• 4-5 day work week; Friday and Sunday are a must
• Hours 10:30am-6:30pm (Fridays finish later; around 7:30-8:00pm)

• Classical cooking background
• Min 5 years related experience working as a Chef within a private residence
• Degree from an accredited culinary school
• Excellent references from both current and previous employers
• European experience is appreciated
• Must be extremely proficient in vegetarian, raw, slow foods, kosher, sea food, macrobiotic/healthy,  and spa cuisine
• Strong restaurant experience
• Should have excellent suppliers in NYC for organic food
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be OK with children and pets (no allergies)
• Must be discrete with understanding of confidentiality; warm and friendly
• Must be a team player who will get along with other domestic staff
