Portfolio Recovery Associates is a twelve year old, publicly traded company (NASDAQ-PRAA) that purchases and manages portfolios of defaulted consumer receivables and provides a broad range of accounts receivable management services. We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Vice President of Portfolio Strategy, to join our growing Corporate Team located in Norfolk (Virginia Beach), Virginia.

 

The successful candidate will perform the following responsibilities:

 

Create the testing methodology and the execution platform for maximizing collections from all channels.  Suggest strategy, conduct tests, analyze and interpret results, and present fact-based recommendations for collections performance improvement to management.

 

Create the set of testing options that can improve performance, define the approach to prioritize the options based on cost/benefit analysis, and produce and execute upon the resulting testing schedule.

 

Clearly document and measure Collection Operations/Segmentation and Recovery strategy performance, incorporate Champion/Challenger structure where necessary. 

 

Build an information capture and reporting system which contains a historical summary of tests performed, test results, expected value of champion application, actual champion value achieved, and other applicable information.

   

Develop strong working relationships with the operational leaders of each collection channel to ensure that the potential of champion test results are fully realized.

 

Travel via car or airplane to visit vendors and attend industry and/or mail-related conference as needed. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of related work experience, preferably in a financial institution. Must have experience developing actionable business analytics, adaptive control systems and be skilled in use of analytical tools including Excel and SQL.  Bachelor’s degree with a background in accounting, finance, engineering, business or quantitative methods also required.  Past experience with SAS and other data analysis tools preferred.
