Job Description 

EHR is actively seeking qualified physicians with to join its rapidly growing team as Medical Director, Governmental Appeals. 

 

The Medical Director, Governmental Appeals is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the department and will be called upon to regularly monitor the healthcare regulatory landscape, conduct retrospective medical record audits, evaluate and determine suitability of cases for appeal, author letters of appeal, represent client hospitals during hearings with the Administrative Law Judges of the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals. The Medical Director will also periodically conduct or participate in education sessions hosted by EHR or industry partners for internal and external audiences.

Job Requirements 

  • MD or DO with 5+ years of clinical practice and prior governmental appeals experience
  • Medical Licensure mandatory; Board Certification preferred
  • Intimate knowledge of the Medicare Appeals Process
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and public speaking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, diverse projects simultaneously
  • Team player with the ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and education levels
  • Computer proficiency including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Filemaker
  • Ability to cope with unfamiliar and stressful situations
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Excellent research skills
  • Extensive clinical knowledge base
  • Strong leader with strategic vision and implementation skills
