Tumor Registrar

Responsible for the identification, collection, coding, staging, and entering of data on all cases of malignant disease into the registry database. Review and abstract patient information from medical record documents, including demographic, medical history, diagnostic procedures, final diagnosis, stage, extent of disease, and treatment. Code and enter topography, morphology, treatment, stage and other required information in compliance with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Assist with patient lifetime follow-up. Routinely prepares special reports utilizing Tumor Registry database.

Requirements Associate’s Degree required. Certified Tumor Registrar, or CTR eligible. 3-5 years Tumor Registry experience. Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and ICD-O coding required. Medical background with specialized knowledge about cancer including etiology, staging, incidence, evaluation, and treatment methods. Experience with computerized data entry is required. ERS and Lastword preferred.
