Description

SUMMARY

This position supervises the assembly and test area of an electro-mechanical production site.  It provides Lean Manufacturing leadership by analyzing, designing and implementing manufacturing and business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, improve production rate and improve process flow and efficiency. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS Degree in Engineering: Electrical,  Manufacturing, Industrial or related field
  • 5+ years production experience in a fast paced mixed volume production environment
  • 3+ years supervision of 15 or more employees
  • Understanding of material flow, capacity planning and cycle/lead times
  • Process improvement experience (Lean or Six Sigma)
  • Computer skills a must
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Machine Shop & Shipping/Receiving a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure execution of daily operations
  • Establish goals, standards and objectives
  • Establish production metrics and personnel statistics
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet OTD and other goals
  • Respond to production problems (i.e. root cause/corrective action)
  • Communicate with customers, vendors and employees
  • Handle scheduling, budgeting and personnel management for department
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and work instructions
