SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER - FEDERAL, DEFENSE, MILITARY PROGRAMS

 

Sr. Program Manager at a global defense contractor working Military and Federal Contracts. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for developing and executing major programs for both technical and non-technical applications involving hardware, software and systems integration. 

Typical Program management responsibilities include proposal development, program design, risk assessment, buy vs make decisions, verification of performance and acceptance.  Managing each program requires adherence to budget, meeting all major milestones and customer satisfaction.  Projects range from $5M on up to multi-multi millions of dollars.

There will be a strong preference for professional experience in engineering and/or program/project management disciplines dealing with such products as aircraft monitoring systems, field communications systems, or training systems just to name a few.



JOB FUNCTIONS: Program Manager

  • Develop customer relations as a primary point of contact.
  • Lead the corporate strategies for procurement, budgets, and negotiations
  • Control of material costs and delivery reliability with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Manage the program from inception to delivery and acceptance.
  • Lead the corporate initiatives to assure that all required cross functional resources are available when needed.
  • Program leader for new business, program pricing, managing the project, and assuring final customer satisfaction.
  • Program Manage - Budget, Timing, Deliverables, Key Metrics, Proposals etc.
 
Job Requirements

  • Must have 4 year undergraduate degree in technical field, electronics, mechanical engineering, systems engineering or a related field.  MBA/MS would be preferred, although not required base on experience. Must be experienced as PROGRAM MANAGER.
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage a team
  • 10+ years business experience and four to five years in specific program / project management.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.      
  • Proven ability to interface with customers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience
  • Will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Engineering,  Logistics, etc.
  • Excel, Powerpoint, MS Office
