Assistant Controller

 

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to assist with the

finance and accounting department improve financial reporting, controls and policies and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting and financial reporting functions. Ideal candidate will be responsible for accounting, financial reporting, audit, billing, payables and payroll.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise 7-10 employees in the accounting and finance department.
  • Monthly internal and external financial reporting, compliance, and analysis. 
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the Company’s external audit, as well as internal audit/controls improvement efforts. 
  • Maintain procedures, systems, and processes necessary to maintain proper records. 

 

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years experience; big 4 public accounting experience and experience in private industry in an accounting/financial reporting role would be a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA certification is a must
  • GAAP and SEC accounting and financial reporting.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, financial reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, and forecasting.
  • Experience in implementation and maintenance in a Sarbanes-Oxley compliance environment. 
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory skills with a diverse group of employees ranging from Professional to Clerical.
  • Ability to travel when necessary.
