Description

Alternatives Unlimited is a national education management company operating various alternative schools and tutoring programs around the country. Our instructional strategies and curriculum meet all criteria set forth by individual school districts nationwide. 

AU is seeking a regional District Coordinator for our tutoring programs in the New York metro area. The District Coordinator will implement after-school tutoring programs for multiple K-12 schools locates at school sites as well as off-site locations.

Duties include:

  • Program Planning and Outreach - coordinate and attend outreach activities driving student enrollment for school districts. Represent Alternatives Unlimited at district and school site meetings.
  • Liaison - build and maintain positive relationships with school staff and offer day-to-day communication and support for tutors.
  • Administrative - coordinate the hiring, screening, and training of tutors. provide schools and tutors with necessary materials and supplies. Coordinate and attend parent meetings to ensure timely completion and submittal of student educational plans. Provide service to all students through proper tutor-to-student assignment rations. Ensure timely and accurate tutor submittal of timesheets, attendance forms and reports. Utilize web-based databases and email on a daily basis to monitor and approve online tutor and student data.

Requirements
  • Prior SES experience preferred

  • Hire, train and supervise tutors and enrollment staff
  • Ensure all tutors have been properly screened
  • Represent company at vendor/parent fairs and school meetings
  • Create and implement a marketing plan for student enrollment
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • Ability to travel within the state
