Description

Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Manager will serve as a key member of the management team for this premier manufacturing company and will be responsible for providing leadership and management to four production supervisors, a materials manager and the general manager of a subsidiary manufacturing division.

Duties & Responsibilitie:

  • Provide leadership in all manufacturing activities including planning, execution and delivery of highest quality products at lowest possible price
  • Participate as an active contributor and member of the company’s leadership team
  • Recruit, develop and mentor direct reports to ensure high performance, competence and behavior consistent with the company’s values and culture
  • Lead and participate in “continuous improvement” initiatives within manufacturing as well as other areas of the company
  • Plan, organize and manage resources (people, material, capital) to meet future and current customer requirements
Requirements
  •  Demonstrated successful leadership/management within demanding manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated successful leadership and management of resources including people, material and capital
  • Experience and expertise with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
  • Experience with ERP systems and, ideally,  experience participating in the implementation of such
  • Knowledge of mil. spec. manufacturing helpful, but not essential

  • Strategic orientation, action-driven and results-based

  • Experience leading and managing a diverse workforce where accountability for results and respect for each person are strongly valued and practiced

  • Demonstrated success in building, developing, leading and managing strong, dedicated and competent staffs

  • Willing and able to represent the company locally, statewide and nationally (as required)  with the highest levels of professionalism

  • Knowledge and competence in managing budgetary, financial and inventory matters

  • A team player capable of representing “operations" at the table while being able to contribute to overall company strategies and objectives

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interact internally and externally

  • Exemplifies the highest standards of honesty, integrity and forthrightness in all relationships; committed to the company’s values 

  • Safeguards and enhances the company’s reputation
  • Demeanor and deportment befitting a senior leader
  • Bachelor’s Degree in production management, business or related field
