This position includes a combination of business development with hiring managers and career development with passive job seekers in the field of Accounting and Finance.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

New business development- this is the number one most important, time intensive part of the position. Several hours every day will be spent hunting for new business. This includes a combination of outbound prospecting phone calls and in person meetings with hiring managers. The goal is to identify companies with hiring needs in Accounting or Finance who are looking for help in their search for the right candidate.

Recruiting- Responsible for meeting eight to ten new candidates per week working in the field of Accounting or Finance. Evaluating  their backgrounds and establishing working relationships with the top 10% of talent.
 
Matching/critical thinking skills- Match the best candidate to every opening, based on a thorough evaluation of the company need and pairing that profile to the appropriate candidate.

Account Management- Nurture and grow existing clients to instill customer loyalty and to further develop an understanding of the right type of candidate for every client.

Consultative Sales- Stay current on trends in software, processes and strategies in Accounting and Finance  to consult with clients on the best person for each position. Encourage partnership with each client in developing appropriate job descriptions and identifying the proper candidate for each position.

Organization- Daily balance between quantity of phone calls and meetings with the quality of delivered message is paramount. Building daily call plan is a key element to success.

Extrovert nature- Talking to and meeting with dozens of new people every day is an integral part of this position. Must easily build rapport over the phone and in person. Attending regular networking events and engaging in conversation at events to develop sales pipeline. 
Requirements

Skills and experience necessary to be successful in this role:

  • Minimum of 2+ years inside/outside sales experience with a company that has metrics related to number of phone calls and number of meetings. Staffing industry sales experience a plus. Start up experience a plus.
  • Accounting and Finance technical knowledge- understanding of software used and technical abiliites for every level of position within the accounting and finance organizational structure is key to building credibility with clients and candidate. Exposure and knowledge of the different skill sets necessary for private, public, small, medium and large organizations is helpful.
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance a plus
  • 1+ year experience working in the field of Accounting or Finance a plus.
  • Strong written communication skills- ability to construct thoughtful and impactful communication directed at hiring managers, including proven ability to construct job descriptions
  • Strong verbal communication skills- ability to communicate clearly and approriately over the phone and in person. Ability to engage the listening quickly and easily in conversation.
  • Customer service/follow up skills- understanding of what excellent customer service means and appropriate manner of follow up with clients and candidates.
  • Marketing- Experience creating and implement passive marketing plans in a sales role
