Description
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Our client, a $3B Manufacturer of Electronics and Power Equipment, has a new opening for an Operations Manager due to internal promotion. This Operations Manager will manage a 3-shift manufacturing operation with mostly low-volume, high mix production of over 3000 skus. Processes include a Resin-Based Pultrusion operation, cutting, grinding, tool assembly and light assembly on the 3 shifts. The Operations Manager will have Production Supervisors and the Planning Department reporting directly.
The PRIMARY PURPOSE of the Operations manager role is to lead all aspects of the operation: personnel, cost, productivity, and on-time delivery to customers for the product line operation. We are looking for candidates with examples of improving on-time delivery in a manufacturing manager or operations manager role.
MAIN DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE-
1. Maintain safe working environment consistent with OSHA and corporate requirements and assure compliance with state and local regulations.
2. Support business plan and master planning schedule.
3. Originate and measure key indicators for the assigned operation (safety, quality, delivery, cost).
4. Support on-time delivery schedules.
5. Assist in development of cost saving measures through improvement processes (LEAN, KAIZEN, etc).
6. Develop and maintain operating budgets.
7. Support inventory goals, assist in controlling obsolete and excess inventory.
8. Supervise Production Leaders and Planning maintaining positive employee relations.
Requirements
BACKGROUND DESIRED-
BS degree in engineering or business, MBA or MS preferred for future promotional opportunities.
The candidate Must Have 5 or more years experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to lead teams and employees in production and manufacturing operations with current experience improving Safety, Quality and On Time Delivery of Product, Reducing Yield and improving Planning or Inventory control.
The candidate Must have experience Leading and Motivating People with examples of success.
It is highly preferred that the candidate have Lean and/or Six Sigma training and implementation experience, using these continuous improvement tools on the floor.
