American Education Group owns and manages 15 exemplary private schools across the U.S.  We are seeking a positive, confident, entrepreneurial and energetic self starter to join the administration team at Lexis Preparatory School in the San Diego, CA area (North Coastal County) as its Director of Admissions and Community Outreach. Lexis Preparatoryy School is a premier school for students who learn differently that is scheduled to open in August 2010.  The school will serve grades K-8 students of average to gifted cognitive ability who are better served by small class sizes and individualized instruction. Lexis students often have a learning difficulty, history of underachievement, ADHD, dyslexia or other challenges that have impacted their previous success in school.  This position will be responsible for:

 

  • Assisting with school start-up activities
  • All aspects of student recruitment, enrollment and fulfillment of admission goals
  • Analyzing admission data to detect performance trends
  • Coordinating school marketing, public relations and event management
  • Reporting monthly key metrics
  • Outreach efforts to professional referral sources in the community
  • Organizing Parent Information Meetings
  • Developing relationships with local associations & community-based organizations
Requirements Ideal candidates will have:
  • A track record managing private school admissions in a fast-paced, performance driven environment
  • Patience and problem-solving approach to admissions issues
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred with at least 3 years experience in a sales management role (preferably a Director of Admissions in a prior position)
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to consistently multi-task
  • Strong goal and results orientation
  • A high level of integrity and professionalism
  • High motivation and passion about achieving goals and deadlines
  • Persuasive communication skills, with a strong customer focus
  • Familiarity with current issues in education, including learning differences
