Description

We have an opportunity for a Benefits Coordinator reporting to HR Manager for a 275-employee financial services group with multiple operating companies and locations in several states.

 

Requirements:

 

  • 3-5 years experience as HR generalist.  BA, recent HR-specific training or SHRM designation preferred. 
  • Capable of responsive, accurate and effective written and verbal communication with employees, senior managers, plan participants and service providers.
  • Current knowledge of federal and state employment and benefit law and trends, including COBRA, FMLA, ADA and ERISA.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.  Experience with ADP Pay eXpert preferred.  ADP Pay eXpert certification a plus.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Respond to employees’ phone and e-mail questions concerning HR issues.  Intervene and mediate differences with benefit plan providers when necessary.
  • Manage personnel files and benefit plan eligibility and enrollments, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA and 401(k).
  • Maintain the HR intranet, updating for employment policy and benefit plan changes and changes in benefit laws.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll using ADP Pay eXpert and prepare payroll-based management summaries and action items.
  • Perform new-hire reference and background checks.
  • Update and proof activity in FSA and 401(k) accounts.
  • Review and approve benefit plan billing statements for payment.
