Microcomputer Specialist - Network
The Connecticut Judicial Branch Information Technology Division is seeking a qualified microcomputer specialist for its Network Services Group to be responsible for a variety of support tasks. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance and support of a state-wide IP Video Conferencing solution. The candidate must have hands on experience with video conferencing equipment by Tandberg, Polycom, Sony, and Cisco systems. Experience with H.323, H.264, and SIP protocols are required. Knowledge and experience with IP/ISDN gateways and video conferencing bridging is highly desired. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, Cisco switches, routers and related equipment as well as a working knowledge of TCP/IP and related networking protocols.
Certifications in networking and Cisco systems are a plus.
This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills. The ability to document processes and procedures is critical.

Requirements
General Experience: Two years of experience in microcomputer programming, problem diagnosis applications usage, user training, and development of user manuals with a variety of microcomputer hardware and software. The focus of such experience should be with video conferencing technologies.
Special Experience: One year of the General Experience must have included the assessment of user needs and the identification of appropriate hardware and software to meet those needs as well as administration of IP networks.
