Summary: Exciting, growing company in Phoenix is seeking a motivated Application Support Engineer to join a team support an open-source, web-based application. The principle focus of this position will be to work with a team to solve technical problems related to client software implementations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are common elements of this position. Other duties may be assigned.

 

l Take ownership of technical issues, and working with development group to resolve more advanced issues when necessary
l Level II customer support, troubleshooting and providing solutions to the customer service representatives
l Diagnose and fix bugs
l Document exceptions and fixes for inclusion into core product
l Merge defect resolutions between code bases
l Develop a deep understanding of the supported application
l Work with customers and community members, including customer service representatives, business managers, project managers, software engineers, and data center engineers.

Qualifications:
• Enjoys trouble shooting and problem solving  

• Minimum of 2 years of Java experience
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with more than one of the following databases: Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, or db2
• Strong verbal and written communications skills: clear, concise and able to communicate difficult operations with customers
• Able to work with minimal direction, prioritize, and multitask
• Ability to rapidly gain knowledge of new technologies and systems
• Enjoys working to achieve customer satisfaction
• Familiarity working in Java environment. This includes using source control, an IDE, bug tracking systems
