Description Provides leadership and strategic direction to St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in the design and implementation of systems, structures and processes that assure continuous compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Accountable for clinical and administrative performance improvement activities for eleven functional areas (patient rights, assessment and care of patients, continuum of care, improving organizational performance, leadership environment of care, human resource, management of information, infection control, medical staff and nursing) to ensure compliance with standards and coordination of key processes and improvement efforts. Scope includes St. Joseph Mercy Oakland and the physician network.

Edu:
Baccalaureate Degree in Health Care field required. Masters in Nursing, Allied Health or Business preferred.

Edu:
Minimum of five (5) years recent hospital practice. Clinical and management experience preferred.

Edu:
Knowledge of performance improvement systems and process improvement principles and designs i.e. LEAN, Six Sigma, PDCA.

Exper:
Five years accreditation working experience in a hospital environment.

Exper:
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience within a healthcare delivery system with an in depth understanding of regulatory requirements and healthcare operations.

Lic/Cert:
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan preferred.

Skill:
Analytical skills necessary in order to compile statistics.

Skill:
Excellent technical skills i.e. Microsoft office computer program, emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.

Skill:
Strong interpersonal skills that support critical commination with external regulatory agencies, senior leadership and associates at all levels.

Skill:
Proficient computer, written and verbal communications skills; excellent presentation skills with ability to relate effectively to physicians, all levels of the organization and associates in a flexible and adaptive fashion.
