Job Description

Our client is a global pharmaceutical company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for an Investigative Veterinary Pathologist.

 

The responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Strategically applying the pathology discipline to elucidate mechanisms of toxicity and improve risk assessment

  • Designing, conducting and interpreting investigative toxicology studies to characterize and investigate the mechanism of toxic changes of development candidates

  • Providing timely analysis and interpretation of data from preclinical toxicology studies, communicating data and interpretation to project stakeholders, and preparing reports

  • Responding quickly to information learned from ongoing studies and providing input to project stakeholders to guide project direction and prioritization

  • Partnering with regulatory toxicologists and pathologists to develop strategies to address specific toxicology issues

  • Partnering with molecular toxicologists to ensure the optimal use of molecular toxicology and pathology tools in preclinical safety assessment

  • 5-10% travel.

 



Job Requirements

We seek candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • DVM with PhD in Toxicology or Pathology and ACVP Board Certification

  • 0-2 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, 3+ preferred

  • Experience in pharmaceutical toxicology and pathology, especially in investigative toxicology and pathology

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to bridge between the Discovery and Development environment

  • Ability to work effectively in teams with discovery, drug metabolism, analytical and process chemistry colleagues.
