Therapeutic Massage Instructor:
Each instructor is responsible for communicating class content to students so that learning occurs, skills are developed and students are motivated to continue to learn and achieve their educational objectives. The instructor reports directly to the Academic Dean and to the Program Director.
- Develop the syllabus for each course assigned bases on ACICS department criteria.
- Include, as part of the syllabus, learning objectives expressed in behavioral terms.
- Distribute a class syllabus to all students at the first scheduled session and submit a copy of each syllabus to the Academic Dean and Program Director.
- Teach the depth and scope of class materials as outlines in the syllabus and catalog.
- Relate instruction to careers and employer expectations.
- Prepare and grade examinations based upon course objectives and return all assignments in a timely manner.
- Implement evaluation for outcomes assessment.
- Administer examinations according to the schedule announced to students in the syllabus.
- Work creatively in all classes taught to discourage student withdrawal.
- Begin class at the designated time and provide a full period of instruction.
- Leave the classroom laboratory clean, organized and ready for the next user.
- Submit, at designated time, final grades for all students on the class roster.
- Accurately record attendance in accordance with Attendance Policy and submit class roster daily, while maintaining a separate record of attendance and grades that is clearly labeled and turned in at the end of the quarter.
- Call all students who are absent and submit written reports of pertinent information to the Program Director.
- Attend faculty meetings, in-service sessions, Commencement and other college events as required by the College.
- Dress professionally in accordance with faculty dress code.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
